Yunus was born in Ethiopia in 1936 and made aliya in 1991. Yunus is a father to 6 and divorced 20 years, primarily due to economic struggles in a new land.

He has lived very simply and his failing eyesight is making doing his laundry by hand, something he has done his whole life, very difficult. A new washing machine will relieve Yunus of this arduous task.  His children cannot help him and his social worker in Hadera has turned to Ten Gav for assistance.
