Moshe can no longer work as a bus driver or do any physical work because of his poor health. He suffers from diabetes, a ruptured disc, and dental problems so severe that he cannot eat solid food. He is in on-going pain.

In addition, his dire financial straits are causing him anxiety and depression. At 60, he is having trouble finding any job at all. He has no income, and the state has not yet decided whether he should receive a handicapped stipend.

Moshe is struggling to make ends meet; he has no way to afford a new washing machine, although his old one no longer works.
