Tuition for Galit

Total Cost - USD 1,081
Still Needed - USD 0
Funded - USD 1,082

Galit, 21, is an impressive young woman. Galit’s father died when she was 13 years old, and her mother was left to raise 11 children on her own. Even when Galit’s father was alive, the family struggled financially. They lived frugally, and the children never asked for anything beyond the bare necessities.

Galit’s mother, Miriam, is a soft-spoken and pleasant woman. She has a positive attitude as she tries to keep her head above water. As her children grew up, their needs grew as well. Many of them needed orthodontics and others needed tutoring. Some of the older girls are married and their weddings, though very simple, added to Miriam’s financial burden. With all of these expenses, she found herself deeper and deeper in debt.

Galit is a serious, mature and motivated young woman. She completed 12 years of schooling with high grades and excelled at math. She is now taking a course that will earn her a teaching certificate in mathematics. She is part way through the course and can’t cover the remaining tuition. Her mother clearly can’t help her either. If Galit can complete this course, she will be one giant step closer to building a stable and independent life. She deserves this chance.
