Special Medical Course for Itay’s Parents
Niv and Odelya were managing to make a living and support their three children until their youngest was born last September. Itay has many medical problems, from a hole in his heart, to crooked legs, to weak limbs and difficulty breathing. Nonetheless, he is a cheerful infant who is clearly trying to learn about the world around him.
Both parents have had to stop working in order to care for Itay and their other three young kids. But to do so properly, either Niv or Odelya will have to take a course at the hospital about how to manage Itay’s physical needs and disabilities. While the course is critical, it costs money and suddenly this is money that Niv and Odelya do not have. They turned to social services for the first time to help them with this critical need.
