Refrigerator for Nane
Nane, 52, is struggling and needs our help.
Nane immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia over 20 years ago. She raised four children on her own and tried to build a stable life for them despite her difficulties integrating into Israeli society.
A few years ago, Nane’s son, 25, was killed in a car accident. Needless to say, the tragedy left the family traumatized and broken.
To make matters worse, four years ago Nane had to stop working because of chronic pain in her hands. She underwent a number of surgeries but her situation has not improved. She receives partial disability and is fighting for more. In the meantime, she struggles to make ends meet.
Three of Nane’s adult children still live with her. They try to help her financially but each has issues of their own that they are dealing with. WhileNane’s apartment is clean and tidy, the furnishings are sparse and old.
The family’s most pressing need right now is a new refrigerator. Their old one broke and without a working refrigerator, there is no way this family can move forward.
