Refrigerator for David
David’s story is heartbreaking. David, 50, is psychologically disabled, having been diagnosed with severe PTSD. David left home at a very young age because of troubled family dynamics. He has since lost all contact with his family.
David has trouble holding down jobs due to his weak interpersonal skills and his inability to adapt to new situations and environments. As a result, he has fallen into debt over the years and has trouble making ends meet.
David’s public housing unit is in complete disrepair. The apartment has been neglected and is missing the most basic furnishings. David’s most pressing need is a new refrigerator. The one he has now is rusty and full of mold; the door doesn’t close properly and the freezer doesn’t work. In his current financial state, David cannot afford a new fridge, but he certainly can’t survive the summer months without one.
