Avraham, 58, used to work as a cleaner. In 2016, however, he developed an auto-immune disease that forced him to stop working. He now suffers from cancer as well. Avraham is divorced and has no family to support him – his parents and two of his siblings are no longer alive. Avraham lived in a small, rental apartment for a few years, but his financial needs now qualify him for public housing. Even with his, after paying for his medications and monthly expenses, it will be difficult for him to buy food and clothing. Avraham has few possessions. Social services was able to acquire a bed for him, but he desperately needs a refrigerator for the new apartment, Unfortunately, Avraham cannot afford to buy one.
