Psychiatric & Psychodiagnostic Assessments for Children in Ofakim

Total Cost - USD 34,413
Still Needed - USD 32,254
Funded - USD 2,159

Since the tragic events of October 7th, when terrorists infiltrated Ofakim and claimed the lives of 50 residents, the city has been struggling with a severe mental health crisis. Families and children who survived that horrific day continue to endure deep emotional wounds, anxiety, and trauma. Yet, more than a year since the war began, mental health resources remain insufficient, leaving the most vulnerable without the critical support they urgently need.

One of the most pressing issues is the lengthy wait time—over six months—for psychiatric evaluations for children at risk. Without these assessments, the children are unable to move forward with necessary treatment plans, therapeutic support, or critical interventions such as out-of-home placements when needed.

Families in Ofakim, many of whom are struggling financially, simply cannot afford private evaluations. As a result, children who need immediate support are left waiting, their conditions worsening to the point of real danger.

Your support will directly fund psychiatric evaluations and psychodiagnostic assessments, providing hope and stability to children who need it most. Together, we can make a difference and offer these children the care and attention they deserve.

Ofakim Social Services have urgently requested our assistance in funding these assessments for 45 children, with a total need of 127,500 NIS / $35,397.
