Oven for Vered
Vered, 40, immigrated to Israel from Eastern Europe as a young child.
She is now a single mother to five children (ages 5-20), after divorcing her abusive husband.
Vered’s ex-husband has nothing to do with his family, and she supports herself and her children on a monthly government stipend and her minimal salary as a bookkeeper.
Vered has nothing to be ashamed of – she graduated high school, performed two years of National Service and completed a degree in Social Work.
Despite her greatest efforts, however, Vered struggles to make ends meet.
The family is living in a small, tidy four-room apartment with minimal furnishings.
Currently, Vered doesn’t have an oven. If we could help provide one, she would be able tp serve her children fresh, hot meals.
