After a heart attack and bypass surgery, Nathaniel became too weak to work and is now deemed completely disabled. His wife, Dalia, has been looking for a job for over a year ever since the company that employed her shut down.
Nathaniel and Dalia and their three children rely on Nathaniel’s disability benefits and Dalia’s unemployment benefits as their only income. This is not enough to cover the family’s needs, let alone to pay off their debts. In fact, the financial situation has gotten so bad that the family has gone into bankruptcy.
On top of their already unsustainable financial situation, their oven no longer works. The family currently cannot get through the month; they certainly can’t afford a new oven.
