Fridge for Yael and her Family
Yael is a mother of four children. Her 18-year-old twins are soldiers and from her first marriage, while her 5-year-old and 2-year-old children are from her second marriage. She is also pregnant and on bed-rest and therefore cannot work.
Yael’s husband is emotionally and verbally abusive. Shortly after their marriage, Yael discovered that her husband had many debts. She tried to help him by joining him to her bank account. This created enormous amounts of stress and difficulties to which Yael was not accustomed. She had always worked and even as a single mother she had supported her children on her own.
The relationship between Yael and her husband deteriorated but Yael thought that if she became pregnant, the situation would improve. In fact, the situation worsened and Yael and her husband are separated. She has filed for divorce although he refuses to give her a get (Jewish legal divorce agreement). Her husband frequents Yael’s home unannounced and disparages her and curses at her and her older children. Yael is receiving help at a center for victims of abuse.
Yael and children live in an apartment without furniture. The older children don’t have beds and their fridge does not work. Yael would be grateful if someone can help provide beds for her children and a fridge for her family.
