Dina works full time in a store and spends her small salary as carefully as she can. But it is insufficient to cover the needs of her five children. Dina and her husband divorced a year ago. He has no job so does not contribute to the welfare of his children in any way. The entire burden has fallen on Dina’s shoulders.

She is loving and attentive to their needs, but simply does not have enough income to cover all the family’s monthly costs. Their refrigerator has been failing. Several times all of the food in it has spoiled; replacing it has been an additional, unexpected, and unmanageable cost. The technician says that it cannot be fixed, but Dina does not have the funds for a new one.
