David and Batia Hofstadter’s Bed Campaign

Total Cost - USD 25,190
Still Needed - USD 11,600
Funded - USD 13,590

Dear Friends,

Batia and I are not in the habit of sending out solicitation emails. This is a first, primarily because Ten Gav is an organization that is dear to our hearts. It receives applications from social workers around Israel to help fund goods and services for needy Israelis that cannot be funded any other way. Think electrical appliances, computers, assistance with course tuitions, and…BEDS!

Our friends at Ten Gav tell us that beds have become the single most often requested item they are asked to provide. Many needy Israelis have many children and live in small quarters so there is a great need for bunk beds, triple pull-outs, and even quad pull-outs.

It is hard to believe but social workers around Israel share that they often make home visits and find children sleeping on torn mattresses or even on the floor. In addition, it is not uncommon for them to come to a home and find out that every member of the family doesn’t have his or her own bed. We can all understand the impact that not having your own bed can have on a child in his or her formative years.

Ten Gav has designated 2023 as The Year of the Bed and is trying to raise enough funds to provide 2000 beds to needy families, primarily for children. We’re trying to help them reach their goal and hope that you will join us!

We’ve been told that the average cost of a bed in Israel is around 1,500 Shekel (approximately $420 USD. Our personal goal is to raise $25,000 USD, enough to supply just over 50 beds to needy Israeli families.

Please partner with us so that together, we can make a real difference in the lives of needy Israelis. Any amount, no matter how small, is appreciated and is tax-deductible. Rest assured knowing that 100% of the donated funds go directly toward the buy-a-bed fund.

THANK YOU!!
