Computer for Shira
Shira’s parents divorced when she was young. Because her father left Israel and her mother lacked parenting skills, Shira was removed from her home when she was 14. She finished high school at a boarding school and did two years of National Service. Shira, 25, is now in her second year of college, studying education. She loves her studies and is determined to earn her degree, which will give her the credentials for making her own way in the world. Paying for her tuition and expenses has been difficult for Shira, especially in the past year when jobs became scarce because of Corona. The change to on-line learning has made the situation even more complicated for Shira because she does not have a computer. A computer would allow Shira to attend her classes and do her schoolwork, but the cost of one is out of Shira’s reach. With a little bit of help, Shira can continue to pursue her dreams.
