Computer for Nofar and Shai’s children
Nofar, 38, and Shai, 39, immigrated from Russia six years ago. They have five children, ages 12-2. It hasn’t been easy for Nofar and Shai to adjust, though they have received help from the Ministry of Absorption and from various non-profit organizations.
The family is struggling financially. Shai, who was the family’s sole wage earner since Nofar has been home with her baby, was put on unpaid leave because of the Corona crisis. To add to their struggles, all of the couple’s school-aged children have been diagnosed with learning disabilities. They all receive outside help but are still experiencing gaps in their education. Unfortunately, Nofar cannot help them because she has struggled learning Hebrew.
The family’s apartment is neat and tidy but lacks anything beyond the bare necessities.
The family’s most pressing need right now is a computer. With all of the children learning from home because of Corona, the lack of a computer is causing them to fall even further behind in their studies. These children deserve every chance to succeed. A computer in the house would be a great step forward for them.
