Beds for Sarena’s boys
Sarena, 43, immigrated to Israel from Eastern Europe with two young children; today, they are teenagers, ages 17 and 18. Sarena is divorced; her ex-husband lives abroad and pays a minimal amount of child support.
Sarena does her best to raise her sons with dignity. She works as a dental assistant at her local health fund, and supports herself and her boys on her income and a monthly government stipend.
The family of three lives in a small, government-subsidized apartment. Recently, the pull-out bed that the boys sleep on broke. Unfortunately, Sarena cannot afford to replace it.
Sarena’s sons, like all of us, deserve a sturdy bed to sleep on.
