Beds for Naomi and her children

While Naomi was diligently studying for a graduate degree in civil engineering, her husband was severely abusing her. Recognizing the inevitable financial consequences, Naomi was reluctant to divorce him, but eventually she had no option.
With the divorce, Naomi was forced to drop out of school. She was faced with debts that her husband had run up and two children – one of whom is autistic – to raise on her own. In her struggle to deal with her complicated everyday life, Naomi does not currently have the time to also look for a job.
She recently received a public housing unit with a bedroom and living room. She desperately needs two beds – one for her six-year old autistic son and one that she can share with her five-year old daughter. She doesn’t have the money for even these most basic of needs.
