Beds for Mika’s children

Total Cost - USD 877
Still Needed - USD 0
Funded - USD 877

Mika, 32, is a very motivated young woman and a devoted mother to her two children, Liat, 7, and David, 4.

A year and a half ago, Mika and her husband divorced. He has visitation rights and pays child support, but Mika has full custody.

Mika has her hands full. Liat has been diagnosed with autism, and David is developmentally delayed and suffers from a birth defect that affects one of his hands.

Mika works in a ceramics store and brings in extra income by working as a cleaner on the side. She is determined to meet all of her children’s needs.

In addition to Mika’s monthly expenses, she pays for emotional therapy for Liat and for an afternoon program for David. She also has loans that need to be repaid. Despite all of her efforts, she struggles to make ends meet.

Until recently, Mika and her children lived in a rental apartment. They are now moving into an apartment that she and her husband bought before the divorce.

Mika is moving into her new home with most of her furnishings from the rental. The kids’ beds, however, broke a while ago and cannot be moved.

Currently, both children are sleeping with Mika in her double bed. If she could get help buying two new beds for her children, everyone’s quality of life would greatly improve.
