Beds for Leah’s children
Leah, 36, is raising six children, ages 4-15, on her own and needs a helping hand.
Three years ago, Leah and Chaim separated after years of physical abuse; Leah retained full custody of the children, and Chaim has supervised visitation rights.
Leah works full-time as a teacher; Chaim doesn’t work, receives a monthly disability stipend and pays no child support. Leah refuses to take Chaim to court over his lack of support, as she recognizes that he is emotionally unstable and doesn’t want to antagonize him.
Currently, Leah and her children are in therapy through social services. Leah also receives parenting guidance; she recognizes the trauma her children have been through and is attuned to all of their needs.
Despite her greatest efforts to live frugally, Leah struggles to make ends meet. Her most desperate need right now are new beds for her children. The ones they are sleeping on are broken and unstable.
Leah’s innocent young children deserve a decent night’s sleep. Let’s help them get one.
