Beds for Ayal’s children
After Ayal and his wife divorced three years ago, he took on sole responsibility for their five children. His ex-wife moved away, cut off all contact and pays no child support. Ayal works cleaning buildings and with these earnings, does his best to take care of his kids and meet their needs. Ayal stays in touch with the children’s teachers and with the social service agencies, but his finances are so desperate that he has had to begin bankruptcy proceedings.
His three girls sleep on thin, worn mattresses on the floor of the bedroom. They would have more space and a much better night’s rest if each girl had a bed with a frame and a sturdy mattress. There is only room for a bunkbed, but one with a trundle would solve the problem. Ayal, however, does not have the money for this.
