Washing machine for Masha
Masha is a 25-year old single mother. Her 4-year old son has been diagnosed with autism and Masha spends a lot of time taking him to appointments with doctors, a speech therapist, and the like. Her newborn son is showing similar signs of delayed development.
Masha needs to be available around the clock for her boys, so is currently unable to work outside the home. The three live in public housing. Masha keeps their two rooms very neat and clean but they lack furniture and appliances.
Masha’s elderly parents live in the same town but they are not able to help her because they are not well. Other than her government benefits, Masha has no means of support. Masha is a diligent, loving, responsible mother, even in the face of a very difficult daily life. A washing machine would allow at least one regular task to be less stressful.
