Hearing aids for Dana
Dana’s story is tragic. Dana’s parents separated when she was young due to her father’s abusive nature. Dana’s mother struggled to raise her children alone but eventually, Dana, now 28, was sent to boarding school.
During her high school years, Dana returned home to take care of her mother who was diagnosed with cancer. Ten years ago, her mother died, and Dana suffered severe psychological trauma. As a result, she was forced to defer her army induction and received intensive psychological counseling. Dana eventually completed her full army service.
Dana was raised thinking that her father had died. Only after her mother’s passing, did she discover that her father was actually alive. The two reconnected and began to rebuild a relationship. Tragically, two years later, Dana’s father died of a sudden heart attack. Needless to say, this was extremely traumatic for her.
In addition to her emotional issues, Dana suffers from a chronic illness that makes even the most basic daily activities difficult. As a result, it has been hard for her to hold down a job. Her request to be recognized as disabled was rejected and, as a result, she receives no government disability stipend. At the moment, Dana has no source of income and mountains of debt to repay.
Dana’s most pressing need at the moment, in order to get back into the work force, is a hearing aid. A year and a half ago, Dana started suffering severe hearing loss. Without hearing aids, she will not be able to get back on her feet. Needless to say, this is an expense that is currently beyond her reach.
