Freida, 60, moved to Israel three years ago from South America; her husband remained behind.

Years ago, Freida’s only son moved here as well, but he has built his own life and has no time for her.

Freida is supporting herself on a monthly government stipend and recently received a rent-subsidized studio apartment.

Unfortunately, Freida cannot afford to furnish her apartment. She has found some second-hand pieces and has received some donations.

Her most desperate need right now is a washing machine. Until now, she has been washing her clothes by hand.
