Tuition for Ben
For a young man of just 26, Ben has been through a lot. When he was only eight years old, Ben’s parents divorced; he has had no contact with his father since then.
Ben and his two sisters were raised by their mother. After graduating high school, Ben enlisted in the IDF and served as an officer in a combat unit. Unfortunately, during his service, Ben suffered a hip injury which has left him with chronic pain. Today, he is being treated with both medication and medical cannabis.
After his discharge, Ben travelled to the US where he lived and worked until he came back to Israel in 2018. When he returned, he worked in order to support himself and his mother who suffers from fibromyalgia. After some time, the relationship between the two deteriorated to the point that Ben moved out. The two are no longer in contact.
Ben is completely on his own now. He can only work part-time because of his chronic pain, and he has applied for a monthly disability stipend. He has been told that his request will be granted in the near future.
Ben has always been an excellent student. He is now in his second year towards a degree in Business Administration. Between his medical condition and his studies, he cannot work many hours and has trouble making ends meet. Social services is helping wherever they can.
Ben is a motivated, intelligent and highly capable young man. There is no doubt that with his degree, he will be able to build himself a stable and independent future. In order to do that, however, Ben needs help covering the remainder of his tuition.
