Tali, 48, has three grown children; her youngest, Shalev, still lives with her as he is mentally challenged.
Tali and her husband divorced a number of years ago, and he is not in contact with her or the children.
Until a year ago, Tali worked as a secretary at the local health fund. After undergoing surgery for a herniated disc, she had to stop working; her health has deteriorated every since.
Tali supports herself and Shalev on their combined disability stipends. Needless to say, however, she struggles to make ends meet.
Recently, Tali’s refrigerator broke. She is desperate for a new one but cannot afford the expense.
