Sonia, 34, is raising two young children (ages 5 and 8) on her own.

Sonia and her ex-husband, Leo, moved to Israel from Ukraine four years ago. He has since moved back and is not in touch with his family.

Since her arrival in Israel, Sonia has worked as an assistant in a kindergarten. Unfortunately, after suffering a fall down a flight of steps six months ago, Sonia had to stop working.

Today, Sonia is being treated for chronic back pain and PTSD, both results of her fall. She is supporting herself and her children on a monthly disability stipend.

Needless to say, Sonia is struggling to make ends meet. Her apartment is in dire shape and needs a complete renovation.

In the meantime, however, Sonia’s most desperate need is new refrigerator. Her old one is broken beyond repair and with two young mouths to feed, a new one is an absolute necessity.
