Refrigerator for Rina

Total Cost - USD 704
Still Needed - USD 0
Funded - USD 705

Rina, 53, has had a difficult life, but she is now trying to pick up the pieces and move forward.

Rina grew up in a very unstable household. She was physically and emotionally abused and was eventually removed from her parents’ home and sent to boarding school.

At the age of 17, Rina attempted suicide and was hospitalized. Eventually, she married, but her troubles didn’t end there. Rina’s husband was abusive and, over the years, she had several more suicide attempts and hospitalizations.

Ten years ago, Rina and her husband divorced. She began treatment and has been emotionally stable for years.

Rina has three children; two are married with families of their own. Her 19-year-old son, Dror, lives with her and works in a restaurant. He tries to support himself and helps Rina in whatever ways he can.

Rina’s years of psychological turmoil and instability left her deeply in debt. She is now participating in a social services program that helps struggling families put a sound financial plan in place. She also meets with a social worker once a week in order to get assistance in other areas of her life.

There is no question that Rina is motivated to stand on her own two feet. For now, however, she needs a little bit of outside help. Rina’s most desperate need is a new refrigerator as her old one is broken beyond repair.
