Refrigerator for Gali
Gali, 27, is raising her two-year-old son, Niv, on her own.
Gali and Niv’s father had a very volatile relationship; he was a heavy drinker and often humiliated and threatened her. Today, they have little contact, and he provides no financial support.
Currently, Gali and Niv live with her father who is suffering from dementia. He depends on Gali both physically and financially. Her sister, along with her young son, lives in the house as well.
To further complicate matters, Niv suffers from physical issues; he has chronic ear infections and is now scheduled for surgery. Gali, who works as a secretary, often has to take days off in order to care for him. This has obviously added to her financial burden.
The living conditions in Gali’s father’s home are crowded and uncomfortable, Recently, Gali entered a lottery and won a government-subsidized rental apartment contract.
Gali and Niv, who are desperate for a home of their own, are preparing to move. Their new apartment is completely unfurnished, however. Their most desperate need is a refrigerator; without one, they cannot move in.
Gali is trying her hardest to make ends meet and raise Niv independently. If she could get help buying a refrigerator, there is no doubt she will be one step closer to succeeding.
