Refrigerator for Ezra
Ezra, 45, is going through a very rough time. Divorced, he is the father of four children, ages 4-24.
Ever since his divorce, Ezra has basically been homeless. He floated between family and friends until social services helped him find an apartment and assisted him with two months’ rent. After a few months, Ezra was evicted because he failed to pay his rent.
Ezra suffered a hand injury a few years ago and is unable to work. He is living off a monthly government stipend and has applied for permanent disability. He has heavy debts to pay off and, to make matters worse, his ex-wife has accused him of abandoning their four-year-old daughter. As a result, he is only allowed erratic visits with her. This has severely impacted his mental state.
Recently, Ezra received a government-subsidized apartment. He is trying to get back on his feet and look for a job. In the meantime, however, he desperately needs a refrigerator. No one should be expected to live without one.
