Refrigerator for Dana and Leon

Total Cost - USD 761
Still Needed - USD 0
Funded - USD 761

Dana, 47, and Leon, 52, are going through a very rough period and need a helping hand.

Five years ago, Leon suffered a bad fall which left him with a serious back injury. Since the accident, he has had great difficulty walking. To make matters worse, he recently underwent cardiac bypass surgery and has been undergoing a long rehabilitation process. Needless to say, throughout this ordeal, Leon has not been able to work.

Dana and Leon have two children, ages 13 and 15. As a result of the stresses at home, their son began to rebel and was sent, by court order, to a boarding school.

Currently, the family of four is surviving on Dana’s low salary and Leon’s monthly disability stipend. They struggle to make ends meet and have amassed heavy debts.

Dana and Leon’s apartment is missing many basic furnishings and various electrical appliances. Their most desperate need right now is a new refrigerator. Their old one was donated to them second-hand and is no longer working properly.

A new refrigerator would allow Dana to provide her children with fresh food; its the very least this family deserves.
