Maya, 36, is an incredibly devoted mother to her two young sons, ages 11 and 14. Despite her greatest efforts, however, she is struggling to make ends meet.

Maya herself comes from a highly dysfunctional family and receives no emotional or financial support from them. The father of her children has cut off all contact with Maya and pays no child support. She is truly on her own.

Maya works as a waitress and tries to meet all of her children’s needs, but her expenses obviously far outweigh her income.

Maya is currently working with Social Services in order to build a plan for the future.

In the meantime, however, she could use our help. The family’s oven recently broke, and Maya has no way to cook her children fresh, hot meals.
