Laptop for Noah
Noah has lived with his aunt and his grandmother since his mother died about six months ago. Noah’s mother had a heart condition for many years that required six operations; her recovery from each was slow and her abilities became more limited every time. Noah did his best to help her.
Noah’s grandmother and aunt take care of him with love and dedication, paying his expenses (even driving lessons) and looking after him. He is not a great student but he puts in great effort at school and enjoys learning. Even more, he loves his volunteer position at the police station, and the policemen there have been an anchor of support for him.
Despite this, Noah, 16, misses his mother terribly and often turns to video games when the memories and the pain become too great. He finds it very frustrating that his computer is old and slow, making both schoolwork and relaxation difficult.
The family relies on his aunt’s income as a cosmetician; she brings in enough to cover their needs, but there is little for anything extra.
