Itay, two, was born with spina bifida and is paralyzed from the waist down. He requires intensive, round-the-clock support, which has kept his mother, the family’s sole wage earner, from returning to work.
His father too is often absent from his studies because of Itay’s medical needs. With two other children to support and the loss of income, the family is in financial crisis. Almost all of their resources are devoted to Itay’s care.
They sleep on mattresses on the floor. Their social worker has turned to Ten Gav to assist this family by purchasing beds.
