Miryam’s story is heartbreaking.

An immigrant from South America, Miryam is a single mother to four-year-old Liav.

Soon after his premature birth, Liav was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Miryam stopped working in order to care for him full time.

Liav’s father is no longer in the picture; he was abusive to both Miryam and Liav, and fortunately she had the courage to leave him.

Recently, Miryam was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease. Both she and Liav receive monthly disability stipends.

Needless to say, Miryam has a lot on her plate. To add to her troubles, the family’s refrigerator just broke, and Miryam cannot afford to replace it.

No family should have to live without a working fridge; let’s take this burden off of Miryam’s shoulders.
