Bed for Solomon

Total Cost - USD 297
Still Needed - USD 0
Funded - USD 297

Genet, 48, is doing all she can to raise her nine children (ages 7-29) with dignity. Two of her children are currently serving in the IDF, with another one about to enlist.

Genet and her husband, Abraham, are divorced. The process was a messy one, and Abraham refuses to pay child support. Genet supports her family on her income as an aide to the elderly, as well as a monthly government stipend.

Genet is enrolled in a social services program that helps families of Ethiopian origin; she attends the sessions regularly. Genet is determined to stand on her own two feet and provide for all of her children’s needs, both physical and emotional.

The family lives in a four-room apartment which is neat and orderly, with basic furnishings.

Genet’s most desperate need right now is a new bed for her youngest son, Solomon. His bed broke and, at the moment, he is sleeping on a mattress on the floor.

Every growing child deserves a proper bed to sleep on; let’s help Solomon get one.
