Washing Machine for Zoe and Asher
Both Zoe and Asher come from troubled families and were deemed “at risk” as youths. They married young and soon started a family.
Asher has been unable to hold a job, but Zoe works as a cashier. Her salary does not cover the family’s expenses (rent, food, water and electricity, clothing, debt payments, etc.), so they are in constant financial crisis.
A year ago, Zoe was diagnosed with cancer, so now her earnings must pay for her medications as well. She is currently pregnant with their fourth child.
Recently, the family’s washing machine broke. Repairing it would cost as much as getting a new one, but they don’t have the money for either option. Especially with a new baby on the way, they need a washing machine in order to raise their children with respect and dignity.
