Washing machine for Danya and Abraham
Danya and Abraham and their two children immigrated to Israel from India many years ago. The family is stricken with health and financial difficulties.
Abraham has epilepsy, and is legally blind. He also suffers from depression as a result of his health problems. He cannot communicate in Hebrew and always relied on his wife Danya to accompany him to outings and doctors’ appointments. However, Danya, a pleasant and reserved women, has also become depressed and no longer leaves the house without her 25 year-old-daughter, Or.
Or, a software engineering student in University helps her parents in many ways, including financially, contributing money from her part-time job.
The couple’s other child, 22-year-old son Isaac, is a soldier in the army and returns home to visit periodically.
The family’s laundry machine is not functional. Transporting their laundry to a family member’s home by public transportation is complicated and not realistic.
The family would like to preserve the little dignity they have left. A working laundry machine would allow them to do so.
