Maor, 27, is a motivated young man who is determined to make something of his life.

Maor’s background is heartbreaking. He was born to unmarried parents and never knew his father. At the age of one, he was taken by social services and put in foster care until third grade.

At that point, Maor was reunited with his older brother, and the two of them were placed with an ultra-Orthodox foster family.

After a year there, Maor and his brother were taken in by their older sister. When Maor was in fifth grade, his mother came back into his life, along with her new partner. They moved in with Maor’s sister as well.

There was a great deal of tension in the house; Maor’s mother is emotionally unstable and was often violent towards her children. Eventually, Maor’s sister moved out.

Two years later, Maor and his brother were once again removed from their home and sent to boarding school. Maor remained there until he finished high school.

While in boarding school, Maor had a host family that he became very close with; he lives with them until today.

After high school, Maor completed his full army service in a combat unit and began working as a counselor in the boarding school where he studied. He was determined to move forward with his life and build a stable future.

Today, Maor is in his second year of studying towards a degree in integrative/holistic medicine. He is also holding down two jobs.

Maor is passionate about his field of choice and hopes to become a mind/body therapist when he finishes his studies. In order to do so, however, he needs help covering his final year of tuition.

There is no doubt that with a little bit of help, Maor will succeed in realizing his dreams.
