Air conditioner for Chana
Chana’s story is tragic. She is 57 years old and divorced. Chana has two grown daughters – one is married and dealing with her own personal problems and the second is in a home for developmentally disabled individuals. Chana is basically alone in the world.
Chana has been on social services’ radar for many years due to financial and health issues, as well as difficulty in day-to-day functioning. She suffers from asthma, a slipped disc, respiratory ailments and panic and anxiety disorder. Chana has never been able to hold down a job and survives on a small monthly government stipend. She can barely afford her medications.
Chana lives in a cramped, old apartment and currently has no working air-conditioner. Chana clearly can’t pay for a new air-conditioner and is suffering terribly without one.
