Bracha and Gavriel struggle to make ends meet. Bracha, 47, worked as a cleaner but was laid off during the Corona crisis. Gavriel, 62, is disabled and cannot work. The couple supports their six children, ages 9-26, on monthly government stipends. Gavriel recently completed a stint in rehab for an addiction to dangerous substances. The couple has since joined a social services program that helps impoverished families find a way to get back on their feet.
In the meantime, Shira, Bracha and Gavriel’s 11-year-old daughter, Is suffering emotionally. She is very close to her father and was very upset by the time he spent in rehab. The tension in the house deeply affects her, as she is very sensitive. The emotional turmoil has impacted Shira’s school work, and she is flailing socially.
Riding therapy has been recommended as a very appropriate method to deal with Shira’s psychological state. Unfortunately though, Bracha and Gavriel are in no financial shape to give Shira the help she so badly needs.
