Refrigerator for Liora
Liora, 33, is trying her hardest to support herself and her seven-year-old son, Bar.
Liora was married at 23 and divorced three years later. Her and Bar were living in Jerusalem, but moved out of the city in order to save money.
Bar has been diagnosed with ADHD. Because of his difficulties, Liora did not want to move his school, and she continues to drive him into Jerusalem each day.
In addition to her role as a devoted mother, Liora works several jobs in order to make ends meet – as a cosmetician, a cleaner and an aide to the elderly. Despite her greatest efforts, however, she still lives in negative.
Liora is determined to build a stable future for herself and Bar. She participates in a social services program and meets regularly with her mentor.
Liora completed three and a half years of studies towards a degree in Business Administration and Economics. Unfortunately, she had to stop temporarily, as she couldn’t afford the remainder of the tuition.
Liora keeps a neat and tidy home. Her most desperate need right now is a new refrigerator. Her old one is broken beyond repair and, at the moment, she cannot keep dairy or meat products in the house.
To raise a young child without a working refrigerator is impossible; Liora, who is doing everything she can to stand on her own two feet, deserves our help.
