Project RESPECT 2020
for the benefit of elderly Ethiopians
We’d like you to meet Moran and Dinah!
Moran Yosef is the director of the Seniors Center for Elderly Ethiopian Immigrants (Ha’Moadon le’kshishei Yotz’ei Ethiopia) in Hadera and Dinah is the sports director.
There are approximately 600 elderly Ethiopians living in Hadera. In our work with the municipal social services department over the past few years, we have learned that the elderly Ethiopian population is in constant need of extra support, beyond that which can be provided by government funding.
We have launched Project RESPECT in order to provide elderly Ethiopians with basic needs such as beds, refrigerators, washing machines and other electrical appliances.
Moran and Dinah are our partners and we trust them to know first hand just who needs our help the most.
You can partner with us and give RESPECT to Ethiopian elderly.
The goals of Project RESPECT are:
To provide the elderly Ethiopian population with basic needs such as beds, refrigerators and other electrical appliances, filling in the gaps left by inadequate government funding
To embrace this underserved, alienated and financially distressed population with a sense of community caring and support
To partner with social services workers in order to provide holistic solutions for this population, keeping in mind that in most cases their children are unable to help them at all.
