Oven for Vered
Vered, 27, is raising two children on her own. Her 6-year-old suffers from a chronic genetic condition and is at even higher risk today due to the spread of Corona. Vered’s younger daughter, aged 4, suffers from developmental delays and is in a special needs gan. Needless to say, the children take up a lot of her time and energy.
Vered was married for 7 1/2 years. Her husband was verbally abusive and cheated on her. Two months ago, the couple divorced. Vered’s parents are available to help with the children, but they cannot help financially. They have a history of incurring debts and, as a result, Vered never learned to manage a bank account or a budget.
Fortunately, Vered is currently learning these skills with the help of social services. She has also found a job with a successful local company. Vered cooperates fully with social services and is determined to stand on her own two feet and build a better life for herself and her children.
Vered is now moving into her own apartment with her two young daughters. She is excited to be taking this step towards independence. Most of the furnishings were either donated or bought second-hand. The one vital item that she is missing is an oven. At the moment, unfortunately, Vered cannot afford to buy one.
