Oven for Shira and Eli
Shira, 42, and Eli, 47, are trying their hardest to make ends meet and raise their six children with dignity.
Shira works as an assistant in a special ed classroom. She can only work part time since her younger children are home in the afternoons. Eli, who completed his full service in the army, works as a kitchen assistant on an intelligence base.
Shira and Eli are very devoted and dedicated parents, who try to meet all of their children’s needs. Their combined incomes, however, don’t come close to covering the expenses of a family of eight. Social services helps in whatever ways they can.
The couple’s most pressing need right now is a new oven. Their old one stopped working, and the technician said it is not worth fixing. No couple should have to raise six children without a working oven.
