Oven for Daniel and Chaya
When Daniel and Chaya bought their apartment several years ago, they relied on loans that they were confident that they could repay. Daniel is as a bus driver for years, and Chaya is an accountant. Unexpectedly, Chaya had to stop working because of health problems that have impeded her ability to work and to care for their home. Daniel puts in the maximum number of hours allowed but after the debt payments, there is rarely enough to care for his family.
The couple has four children, two of whom have social and emotional problems that therapy is helping but paying for that therapy is difficult. Adding to their stress, the family’s oven stopped working over a year ago and only two of the burners function. Cooking has been very difficult but the couple has been unable to come up with the money for a new oven.
