Bruria, 86, is a widow with six grown children. She moved to Israel from Morocco 35 years ago. Although she worked for years, her salary was low, so she was unable to save much.Now she relies on her pension and social security funds, but these are not sufficient to cover her daily needs as well as her many medications.

Bruria suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, and falls easily. It is difficult for her to leave the house or to care properly for herself.

Now her oven has failed, but it is beyond her means to purchase a new one.
