Abraham, 53, moved to Israel from Ethiopia in 1984. His handicaps have kept him from working. He is not in touch with any of his siblings and has no family support. His only income is his state stipend, which barely meets his needs.

Abraham lives by himself in public housing and manages the best he can. This is harder without an oven with which to prepare food for himself, but Abraham cannot stretch his funds to cover even this most basic appliance.
