Funded - USD 865

Avital* is an 18 year old who was brought up in a caravan in Kiryat Arba by her mother and step father who are now divorcing. After finishing high school and in anticipation of a meaningful army service she wants to go to a mechina (one year army prepatory program) to help her socially, emotionally and practically prepare.  Her social worker considers this step to be extremely important in setting Avital up for a successful army service which will open doors for her down the road.

Avital has no way to come up with the tuition necessary to participate in this program.

*This case comes to Ten Gav from Merkaz Otzma, one of numerous “Empowerment Centers” set up by the Ministry of Social Affairs that focuses on complementary services for participating families, as well as for other local residents that are dealing with financial hardship. These services include workshops and group and individual sessions on relevant topics, such as preparing for work, citizens’ rights and financial guidance.
