Mattress for Tami
Tami, 62, needs our help.
Tami has lived a rather sad life. At the age of six, her mother died, and her father was unable to care for his children alone; they were sent to foster care. Tami lived with a number of foster families during her childhood, until she was old enough to live on her own. She has lived in the same government-subsidized apartment for many, many years.
Tami has two children, ages 37 and 42. Neither of their fathers ever took responsibility for them or paid any child support. Tami raised them alone.
Tami suffers from numerous psychological issues, including depression and anxiety disorder. She is on regular medication and receives a monthly disability stipend.
Tami lives very frugally and doesn’t like to ask for help. At the moment, however, she has no choice. She is sleeping on an old, frayed mattress and desperately needs a new one. Everyone, no matter their financial situation, deserves a decent night’s sleep; Tami is no exception.
