Laptop for Oleg

Total Cost - USD 1,178
Still Needed - USD 0
Funded - USD 1,178

After moving to Israel with his parents when he was young, Oleg completed 12 years of schooling and served in the Army. In the course of his service, Oleg was wounded. After months of hospitalization, he was able to move home to his mother (his father cut off all contact with the family years ago).

Now 24, Oleg still suffers from hearing problems and memory lapses, has limited use of his right hand, and is undergoing treatment for post-traumatic stress syndrome. The Army covers his medical costs and pays him a stipend which Oleg uses to support his mother and to cover their household expenses, as best he can.

Despite these difficulties, Oleg is determined to move ahead in life, to push himself academically, and to strive to reach the highest goals that he can. To this end, he has started studying engineering. Oleg is doing well in school but to keep up in class and with his assignments, he needs a laptop computer with the appropriate software. He cannot afford to buy this on his Army payments, but worries that without it, he will need to drop out of the program.
